// THE CENTER OF THE MAP

City of Apocalypse.

Season 1's Capitol — the prize the whole territorial campaign is built to reach. It opens in Week 4, not the finale. Here's why the map leads here, who may contest it, and how it's won.

01 What it is

The City of Apocalypse is Season 1's Capitol — the central objective at the heart of the map, and the political prize the whole season bends toward. Current Season Structure Official guidance describes the Capitol as the peak objective of the city campaign.

02 Why the whole map leads here

Alliances begin near the edges, capture Military Strongholds, connect their territory, climb through increasingly valuable cities, and establish a route toward the center. The guidance is explicit: plan your path toward Level 6 cities and the central map — don't get trapped in the outer corners. Strategic Advantage Every capture you make on the territory map is really road-building toward this point.

03 When it opens

This is the correction most guides get wrong: the City of Apocalypse is not a Week-7 finale event. It becomes available around Day 28 — Week 4, when Level 6 cities unlock, and from that point it is the centerpiece the back half of the season orbits. Current Season Structure

04 Who may contest it

To compete for the Capitol, an alliance generally must: Current Season Structure

  • Hold a Level 6 city.
  • Control territory directly connected to the City of Apocalypse.
  • Be prepared for a Capitol-style occupation battle.

05 How it's won

The win condition is occupation, accumulated over time: the first alliance to reach four hours of total occupation wins. Current Season Structure Occupation does not have to be continuous — you can lose the Capitol and retake it, and the time still counts. If no alliance reaches four hours before the event ends, the alliance with the longest accumulated occupation wins.

The cannons around the Capitol accelerate occupation progress and fire on the enemy Capitol — capture them before you assault. Game Rule

// The Contaminated Land

The zone around the Capitol is Contaminated Land, and inside it your radar, shields, and exploration are disabled. Game Rule Plan to fight without the safety net you rely on everywhere else on the map.

06 Why ownership matters

Capturing the Capitol determines the presidency: the winning alliance's leader becomes President and appoints ministers. Game Rule Those appointments carry real benefits across construction, research, training, resources, and military — which is why the Capitol is a power multiplier for the alliance that holds it, not just a trophy.

07 What it does — and doesn't — mean

The City of Apocalypse is the geographic and political focal point of Season 1, but it is not the only measure of season success. Current Season Structure Alliances and warzones also compete through territorial influence, cities, strongholds, cross-warzone captures, and Warzone Duel results. The broader season ranking runs on Influence Points — so an alliance can fall short of the Capitol and still finish strong. How that all settles is on the Season Settlement page.
