Genetic Recombination.

The quiet system that funds your entire season. Miss it for a few days and you fall behind on every building that matters — and the bottleneck is the one only your alliance can solve.

What is it?

The Season 1 resource loop: combine all six Gene Fragment types to produce Mutant Crystals — the primary building resource for the VRI, Protein Farms, and Military Bases. Confirmed Mechanic Consistent play yields roughly 57–59 million crystals across the season, and Genetic Recombination is the single largest source.

When does it happen?

From Day 3 through the end of Week 7. One recombination is available every 2 hours, capped at 30 stored — so leaving it untouched for more than ~60 hours wastes crystals. Update-Sensitive

Who can start it?

Individual to run, but alliance-dependent to feed — half the fragments only come from curing teammates. Every player.

How does it work?

Six fragment types are required. Types I, II, III come from PvE — attacking zombies and Doom Elites. Types IV, V, VI come exclusively from curing infected alliance members. Confirmed Mechanic Combine all six to receive Mutant Crystals.

What should I prepare?

A habit of clearing recombinations before they cap at 30, a steady supply of fragments I–III from zombie kills, and an alliance curing routine for IV–VI.

How do we win?

Run it every time it’s available — the system runs 47 days and idle days waste your main crystal source — and coordinate zombie attacks and alliance curing simultaneously so both fragment halves keep flowing. Funnel the early crystals straight into VRI; don’t split. Corroborated Strategy

Common mistakes

  • Letting recombinations sit and cap at 30 — wasted crystals.
  • Neglecting fragments IV–VI by never curing teammates.
  • Splitting early crystals away from VRI.

Leadership protocol

Build curing into the daily rotation — it scores points and earns the hard fragments — and remind members to clear stored recombinations before the cap. Leadership Protocol

◈ Vixen IntelConfirmed Mechanic

The crystals are your whole season’s building budget, and the bottleneck is fragments IV–VI — which only come from curing infected allies. So the alliance that cures together builds fastest. Pair zombie kills (I–III) with curing (IV–VI), and never let recombinations cap at 30.
