What is it?
The Season 1 promotion of Mason from SSR to UR — a major power step for the season’s signature hero, and the centerpiece of the Wall of Honor push. Confirmed Mechanic
When does it happen?
Around Week 2. Update-Sensitive
Who can start it?
Individual progression — every player decides when to promote their own Mason.
How does it work?
Mason must be 5 stars to promote. Promotion returns him to 3 UR stars, refunds the relevant skill resources, and sharply raises the shard requirement to rebuild to 5-star UR. The Wall of Honor tie-in: reach 160 with Mason, accumulate ~500k Skill Medals, invest into Mason, then upgrade to UR — which reclaims ~1.6k of his fragments to reinvest. Update-Sensitive
What should I prepare?
Bank Mason shards and ~500k Skill Medals via Marshall’s Guard and the Wall of Honor cadence. Don’t burn skill resources you’re about to get refunded.
How do we win?
Promote with saved shards and the refunded resources, use Hero Level Swap to move levels rather than buying them, and promote only when properly prepared — not on impulse. Corroborated Strategy
Common mistakes
- Panic-buying shards to force the promotion early.
- Promoting before 5 stars.
- Not banking the ~500k Skill Medals first.
- Overspending on what the promotion refunds and reclaims anyway.
Leadership protocol
Leadership drives the Wall of Honor 160 and Marshall’s Guard cadence that feeds Mason, and reminds members about the refund and ~1.6k fragment reclaim so they don’t overspend. Leadership Protocol
Promotion refunds skill resources and reclaims ~1.6k fragments — so the real cost is far smaller than the shard counter suggests, if you prepared. Bank medals and shards, promote once, reinvest the refund. Never panic-buy what the game is about to hand back to you.
